Seton Hall also had two pitchers selected, as the Brewers tapped Dan Merklinger 191st, while the Mets selected reliever Dan McDonald at 273. Army had two pitchers also tapped, as Seattle selected lefthander Nick Hill, while the Angels got closer Milan Dinga. Manhattan had first baseman Matt Rizzotti (pictured, above left), Pitcher Jesse Darcy and catcher Nick Derba selected.
Several Division III stars were not selected, despite showing up on pre-season and pre-draft prospect lists. Catcher Gerard Haran of The College of New Jersey, pitchers Joe Augustine, Dan Zeffiro, and shortstop Perry Schatzow of Kean lead the list of undrafted hoping to sign free agent contracts.
