In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, our good friend filmmaker John
Fitzgerald is stopping by to discuss his documentary about the Irish
National Baseball Team: The Emerald Diamond. Over the last year we know
John as the man behind the minor league film “Playing for Peanuts”.
The Emerald Diamond is an inspiring baseball “underdog” story. John
will talk about how the sport of baseball caught on in Ireland, the
early struggles to compete against other European counties, and how
baseball has developed since its inaugural years.
You can learn how to purchase the movie as well as how you can support Irish baseball at www.irishbaseballmovie.com .
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Gotham Baseball Live
will be featuring music from the “Emerald Diamond CD”. Check out
Jameson's Revenge and the Irish-punk band called "Neck" to listen to
more of their music. To listen live download the replay or chat during the show click here.
Overtime: It was a big weekend at Gotham Sports Radio. On Friday Art Shamsky, member of the 1969 Mets, was live for our Mickey Mantle’s show. Matt Cerrone stopped by on Sunday’s Gotham Baseball Live to discuss his experience covering the Mets in Port. St. Lucie.
During the second half of the show, Sensei John Kreese and Lane Meyer
of Nomaas.org educated the audience about Yankees issues. Lane also
told me why the premise of my article “Starting Dilemma” is off base.
Finally, David Rubenstein and I had our special “Selection Sunday” show on Gotham March Madness. We gave our opinion on each region, sleepers, and who are the favorites to win the NCAA Tournament.
